We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 main contractor involved in a major highway maintenance project. This long-term project is expected to run until 2028, offering job security and exciting challenges. The role is hybrid, providing flexibility while working alongside a vibrant, young team of professionals in a dynamic and enjoyable environment.

About the Quantity Surveyor Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work across various civil engineering activities such as surfacing, bridge joints, drainage, earthworks, concrete repairs, and general civil works. You will be responsible for overseeing project costs from initial pricing to final accounts, ensuring client satisfaction while maximising profitability. A strong understanding of NEC contract processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing projects, preparing estimates, and submitting tenders
  • Managing client relationships and addressing any concerns or queries
  • Preparing and negotiating final accounts
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting on costs and forecasts
  • Attending regular project and client meetings
  • Collaborating with site teams to manage costs and enhance efficiency

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for client and team engagement
  • Experience with highways or civil engineering projects is preferred
