We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well established civils contractor.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the commercial management of the project, overseeing the financial aspects from inception to completion.
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections.
Monitor and manage costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and providing regular reports to the project team and senior management.
Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, site managers, and subcontractors, to assess and manage contractual risks and variations.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure value for money.
Prepare and administer contracts, including subcontract agreements and change orders.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify any potential cost or schedule impacts, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Manage and resolve any commercial disputes or claims that may arise during the project.
Stay updated with industry trends, cost management techniques, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably on high-value groundworks and RC frame projects.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and commercial management practices.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and financial reports.
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools, such as Excel and cost estimating software.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field are desirable.
