My client is looking for an Estates Supervisor to join their Estates team. This pivotal role involves supervising the maintenance and landscaping of facilities, including halls, buildings and open spaces. You will work closely with the Head of Estates, deputising as necessary, to ensure all facilities are safe and well-maintained.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Supervise routine grounds maintenance work to ensure safe and clean environments across all sites, promoting good practice among the team.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of playing surfaces and open spaces, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
  • Stay updated with horticultural, sportsturf and facilities management best practices and legislation, particularly health and safety, applying this knowledge comprehensively.
  • Supervise the use and maintenance of equipment and machinery such as hedge cutters, hand tools, strimmers and ride-on mowers.
  • Manage the facilities of our halls, including water management, asbestos control, emergency procedures and routine safety checks.
  • Adhere to and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within estates or facilities management.
  • Experience managing staff and operating horticultural machinery and hand tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation, standards and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with staff, customers and the public.
  • Positive, professional attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness necessary for manual handling and lifting heavy items.
  • Full driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in horticulture and sports turf.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
  • Further qualifications in Sports Turf Management or Facilities Management.
  • Knowledge of maintenance of sports turf machinery.
  • General DIY skills and a modern approach to sports turf preparation and maintenance.
