Job Advert: SEN Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to oversee our specialist resource provision for children with speech and communication difficulties.

Role Overview

In this rewarding role, you’ll lead a small, nurturing environment tailored for 9-12 children with speech and communication needs. Supported by a team of three Teaching Assistants (TAs) in the mornings and two in the afternoons, you’ll create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that helps students thrive. In the mornings, all children are engaged in the provision, while some join their mainstream classes in the afternoons for Foundation subjects, allowing them to integrate with their peers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver specialised learning plans, focusing on speech and communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality support across morning and afternoon sessions.
  • Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised interventions, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential.
  • Liaise closely with class teachers to ensure smooth integration for children who attend mainstream classes in the afternoons.
  • Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere aligned with the school’s ethos and values.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in SEN, particularly in supporting children with speech and communication needs.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within SEN provision, ideally within a resource-based or inclusive setting.
  • A collaborative, positive approach, with excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive, structured environment where children feel safe, valued, and able to achieve their best.

If you’re passionate about SEN education and ready to make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
