Reed Finance are seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to take overall responsibility for the integrity of the ledgers, including the management of the Financial Operations team, for our client in Havant. This role is pivotal in ensuring the provision of accurate financial statements and acting as the primary contact for the annual audit. The successful candidate will be a champion of our core values, including excellence, integrity, and a future focus.
Day-to-day of the role:- Maintain cashflow reporting to ensure adequate working capital, considering both operational and capital expenditure.
- Lead the month-end process, including management of the timetable, journal approvals, balance sheet reconciliations, and ledger balance assurance.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for all group companies, including group consolidation.
- Oversee the Finance Operations Team, ensuring adherence to governance, controls, and maintenance of team KPIs.
- Set objectives, review team performance, and ensure resilience and documented processes within the Finance Operations Team.
- Review monthly VAT returns and lead the year-end process, including audit preparation and tax computations.
- Coordinate audit deliverables and provide data to auditors.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policy and actively establish new BI reports based on stakeholder needs.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to the business and drive continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Offer technical accounting support and advice to the wider team, coaching, mentoring, and providing support as necessary.
- Support projects such as ERP System upgrades, reporting tool implementations, and Regulatory Business Planning Cycles.
- Chartered Accountant / ACCA / ACA qualified or equivalent. - desirable
- Experience with group consolidation and establishing new reporting and processes. - essential
- Clear communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work flexibly and under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior experience with UK GAAP and advanced skills in Excel.
- Audit/Corporate Finance background is desirable.
