Our client a Civil Engineering Contractor based across the south coast are looking for a financial focused Project Controls Manager, to work on a unique, prestigious project on a new water reservoir in Hampshire. The Project Controls Manager will receive a generous salary up to £80k + Car allowance or Salary Sacrifice Electric / Hybrid Car Scheme, company bonus, Private Healthcare and fantastic career development.

The Project Controls Manager to lead financial performance reporting for a complex project. In this role, you'll partner with the Project Director, Leadership Team, and CFO to drive tactical and operational decisions, ensuring compliance with risk and control frameworks. You'll also develop and manage tools and systems to enhance project delivery and financial reporting, playing a key role in shaping project success.

Project Controls Manager Job Overview
  • Partner with the Project Director to provide financial insights and challenge project strategies.
  • Collaborate with construction and commercial teams on cost estimates, programming, risk, and resource forecasting.
  • Monitor financial forecasts, analyse scenarios, and report project progress.
  • Oversee financial and contractual compliance, validating contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure alignment across cost control, planning, and estimating functions.
  • Manage cash flow and financial position, addressing variances as needed.
  • Act as a key contact for pricing, cost control, scheduling, and risk analysis.
Project Controls Manager Job Requirements
  • Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or a professional accounting qualification.
  • 5 Years + experience in a Construction environment (preferably civil engineering) .
  • Joint venture experience advantageous
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, cost forecasting, dashboards, and senior-level reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts
  • Experience with change management.
  • Knowledge of BIM, document management, and construction techniques, especially in water projects.
  • Proven experience on large, complex construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Business Collaborator.
