Our client is a dynamic, innovative high-end engineering and technology business specialising in cutting-edge solutions for complex engineering challenges within aerospace, automotive, marine and defence. With a strong focus on precision, technological advancement, and financial sustainability, the company is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director, based in Havant for an initial period of 6 months to provide strategic financial leadership during a crucial transition period.

What will the Finance Director role involve?

The Interim Finance Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s financial health, ensuring robust financial controls, and driving financial strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finance function, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring effective financial management, reporting, and planning.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax obligations, and company policies.
  • Support fundraising activities, investor relations, and financial due diligence as needed.
  • Work closely with department heads to optimize financial performance and cost control.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the finance team Lead the finance function, ensuring effective financial management, reporting, and planning.

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Director vacancy:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or senior financial leader in a high-end engineering or technology-driven business.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and accounting software.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved in operational finance.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an environment with high-value projects and complex financial structures.
