We are currently looking for a Manual Machinist to join our dedicated team in Havant, UK.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Manual Machinist in the ADR cell, you'll be working with a range of manual machines, manufacturing components for seal assemblies and spares. The role involves operating grinding, milling, turning, and lapping machines to machine materials like Inconel, stainless steel, carbon, and composites. Flexibility and safety are key, with responsibilities shaped by business demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drilling, lapping, and grinding machines.
- Work to tight tolerances using a variety of measuring equipment.
- Follow engineering drawings and processes.
- Machine highly resistant materials such as Inconel.
- Collaborate with operational teams to meet OTIF (On Time in Full) targets.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
- Adhere to health and safety standards.
Skills and Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Experience in a tool room environment.
- 5 years' experience in an engineering setting.
- Proficiency with surface grinding machines.
- Experience with assembly and fitting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a small team.
- A mechanical aptitude and an understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Ideally educated to college level or with significant experience in manufacturing.
