Copello have partnered with a defence business based in Havant, in the recruitment of an Operational Purchaser on a contract basis. Contract length expected to be 6 months, minimum.
Please note candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Processing requisitions and placement of purchase orders in SAP.
- Expedite purchase orders as required in-line with manufacturing requirements.
- Supplier liaison - monitor performance through KPIs and foster collaborative relationships.
- Contribute to procurement department cost down targets.
- Support with the Indirect procurement activities as required.
- Support internal colleagues with the indirect purchase process.
- Support the resolution of invoice queries.
- Stock and maintain the stationery cupboard.
- Book and escort visitors where required around the facility.
- Address and resolve PPE-related issues as they arise.
Requirements:
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- Proven experience within a supply chain role, preferably within defence, manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong IT skills - familiarity with SAP or MRP/ERP system experience.
- Strong Analytics Skills.
- Proven ability to grasp and retain new concepts with little guidance.
- Problem Solving and decision making oriented.
- Good communication and team working skills.
- Strong personal drive used to take own initiatives and be proactive.
- Ideally have or working towards CIPS qualification.
