A well-established specialist Civil Engineering contractor is currently recruiting for a Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Manager to join their team in Havant. The company delivers complex civil engineering projects across sectors such as water and wastewater, infrastructure, and coastal protection, managing projects from conception through to delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a legacy project in Hampshire while playing a key part in promoting a positive safety culture and wellbeing across the business.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Job Overview
  • Lead all aspects of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW), ensuring standards are developed, implemented, and maintained across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, company H&S plans, and statutory obligations, promoting best practices and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the client to support mental health partnerships and wellbeing programmes.
  • Develop reward and recognition plans for positive HSW practices while managing drug and alcohol procedures in line with corporate policies.
  • Provide regular HSW progress reports, conduct site audits, and investigate incidents, identifying corrective actions and root causes.
  • Foster strong relationships across sites, promoting effective communication and adherence to HSW procedures.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Job Requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience in Civil Engineering with a focus on Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.
  • Must hold CMIOSH
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Diploma or similar.
  • Proven experience managing multi-skilled teams and leading wellbeing initiatives working as a Senior lead/Advisor
  • Strong understanding of H&S legislation, compliance, and best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with CDM Regulations 2015 and Health and Safety Management Plans.
  • CSCS card and SEATS/Mental Health First Aid (desirable).
  • Experience of MEICA process safety
  • Full UK driving licence.
