Role: Embedded Software Engineer - Audio Applications

Location:Havant, Hampshire and onsite 4x days per week

Salary: competitive dependant on experience

We are seeking a passionate and driven Embedded Software Engineer to join a small, innovative team working on exciting new audio technology products. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with solid embedded software development experience who is eager to expand their knowledge in audio technology, DSP, and the Zephyr stack.

As part of this role, you will contribute to the redesign of a full range of audio products from the ground up, working on new development and cutting-edge technologies. This is a fantastic chance for someone with 2-8 years of experience to join a close-knit team, learn new skills, and work on challenging and impactful projects in the audio space.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and optimize embedded software for audio applications, with a focus on digital signal processing (DSP) and embedded systems.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers and the product manager to ensure software and hardware integration is seamless.
  • Contribute to the complete redesign of product ranges, from concept to prototype, with clean slate development.
  • Participate in hands-on debugging of software and hardware prototypes.
  • Gain exposure to Zephyr OS and DSP tools, while applying your expertise in embedded systems, RTOS, and ARM development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong experience in Embedded C programming.
  • Solid background in bare metal development and working with RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems).
  • Experience with ARM-based microprocessors.
  • Familiarity with Linux development for embedded systems.
  • Ideally, experience working with CODECs (a plus).
  • Enthusiasm to expand your skills in audio technology, DSP, and the Zephyr stack.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a small team and contribute to the development lifecycle from start to finish.
  • Clear and concise software documentation skills.

Desired Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with high-speed design.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols like Bluetooth, USB, I2C, I2S, RS232, HTTP, and UDP.
  • Exposure to operating systems like Linux or MS.
  • Experience with Infineon PSoC Creator and ModusToolbox.
  • Understanding of API development and web-based applications (GUI development).
