PCB Assembler - Through-Hole & Surface-Mount
Location: Havant
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hours per week) with a 30-minute lunch break.

A specialist manufacturer is seeking a PCB Assembler to join its production team. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with experience in conventional through-hole PCB assembly, with additional surface-mount knowledge considered an advantage.



Role Overview

You will be responsible for the end-to-end assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs), working from bills of materials and population drawings. The role requires precision, strong soldering technique, and the ability to identify and handle a wide range of electronic components.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble PCBs using through-hole and some surface-mount techniques.

  • Accurately interpret bills of materials and population/layout drawings.

  • Identify electronic components by markings, resistor banding, and colour codes.

  • Prepare and form components ready for placement and soldering.

  • Ensure consistent quality of assembly work in line with company standards.

  • Collaborate with production team members to maintain workflow and quality.



Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience in through-hole PCB assembly.

  • Some knowledge or exposure to surface-mount assembly techniques.

  • Competency in reading and interpreting technical assembly documents.

  • Strong soldering skills and familiarity with component recognition.

  • Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing or production environment.
