Procurement Representative - IT Software/Telecoms

12 month Fixed Term Contract

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Representative to join our team. Working to a four day week, you can expect to work from home 3 days a week and once a week in our offices in Havant, Hampshire. This dynamic and varied role will empower you to negotiate and make binding decisions on behalf of the company, subject to appropriate approvals. You'll serve as the primary interface with internal customers and external suppliers, playing a key role in developing and implementing procurement strategies to meet programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies with various stakeholder teams.
  • Negotiate non-standard terms and agreements to meet objectives.
  • Complete contracts, review supplier proposals, and negotiate prices.
  • Source and recommend suppliers, analyze trends, and follow up on placed orders.
  • Expedite orders, verify delivery, approve payments, and maintain records.
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

Source Selection:

  • Identify and conduct due diligence on potential suppliers.
  • Gather requirements, issue, and analyze Request for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Vet responses and assist in making sourcing recommendations.
  • Identify risks and finalize Purchase Orders per Acquisition Procedures.

Negotiations:

  • Lead and participate in the planning and approval process for negotiations.
  • Prepare and complete negotiations within approved limits and timelines.
  • Conduct fact-finding, negotiation, and follow-up activities.
  • Negotiate non-standard agreements with appropriate support.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assume additional responsibilities as directed.
  • Assist with information gathering and collation for new system implementations and enhancements.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Defence Sector experience would be ideal. Working within very process driven environments.
  • Strong experience with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Proven track record in managing contracts, particularly in telecoms/datacentres/IT/computing procurement
  • Flexible and self-motivated approach, with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Capability to take ownership of procurement initiatives.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating standard/template procurement terms and confidentiality agreements.
  • Competency in working quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines and within a fast pace environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Data literate with strong analytical skills.
  • Category Management skills.
  • Experience in indirect corporate procurement.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.

Typical Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Ideally, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with proven professional experience. Equivalent experience or combined education will also be considered.
