Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEMH primary teacher to join the team at our client SEMH School based in Havant.
Although the role is Primary Teaching, you will be working with pupils aged 11-16 years old. These pupils will be working towards the Primary syllabus to suit their level of learning ability.
As a SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Provide high-quality, personalised teaching utilising therapeutic approaches to support students with SEMH needs.
- Design and conduct lessons that enhance student's social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Establish a secure, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes for students.
- Effectively manage behaviour and encourage positive learning attitudes.
- Track, assess, and document student progress to guide teaching and set goals.
- Include outdoor and diverse learning experiences to fully engage students.
- Ensure the welfare of students and adhere strictly to Child Protection Protocols.
- Engage in professional development and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Adapt flexibly to meet the varying needs of students and the school's requirements.
About you:
- You have qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders

Pay - MPS plus SEN allowance

Hours - Full time Standard working hours 08.30am-16.30pm (times may vary).
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
