Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEMH primary teacher to join the team at our client SEMH School based in Havant.

Although the role is Primary Teaching, you will be working with pupils aged 11-16 years old. These pupils will be working towards the Primary syllabus to suit their level of learning ability.

As a SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, personalised teaching utilising therapeutic approaches to support students with SEMH needs.
  • Design and conduct lessons that enhance student's social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Establish a secure, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes for students.
  • Effectively manage behaviour and encourage positive learning attitudes.
  • Track, assess, and document student progress to guide teaching and set goals.
  • Include outdoor and diverse learning experiences to fully engage students.
  • Ensure the welfare of students and adhere strictly to Child Protection Protocols.
  • Engage in professional development and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Adapt flexibly to meet the varying needs of students and the school's requirements.

About you:

  • You have qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders

Position - SEMH Primary Teacher

Pay - MPS plus SEN allowance

Duration - Permanent/Temporary- Long-term/Permanent

Hours - Full time Standard working hours 08.30am-16.30pm (times may vary).

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
