Our client islooking to recruit a SHEQ Manager to support and act as Relief to the Site Manager, covering Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate the implementation of Health, Safety and Environment procedures, ensuring that company and legal standards are met. You will be required to support company SHEQ initiatives, drive a proactive Accident prevention approach and promote a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the site.

The ideal candidate will also need to be experienced within Health and Safety environment and possess an understanding of ISO accreditation. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. You will need excellent written and spoken communication skills and be able to demonstrate results delivery. Provide detailed information sharing at all levels and drive SHEQ values and continuous improvement.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience Desirable Experience in a SHEQ Management role within the waste industry with the ability to liaise with the Regulators (NRW, HSE) or similar would be advantageous.
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Essential Risk Management Method Statement Review
  • Site inspections and investigations
  • Company preparation for Audits, Compliance, and maintenance of relevant standards
  • Risk Assessment experience, an in-depth understanding of and the ability to interpret SHEQ-related legislation, Company standards and programme requirements to pass on knowledge and requirements to others.
  • Excellent people skills, enabling them to consult with staff across the business.
  • Excellent communication skills and a focus to support change and culture in Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills and a focus to support change and culture in Health and Safety
  • Decisive and able to maintain good control over delegated responsibilities.
  • Team minded, excellent communicator, oral and written with good presentation skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent report writing skills.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • NEBOSH / IOSH Graduate IOSH Status or CMIOSH status
  • Ability to Liaise with the Site Regulating Officer.
  • WAMITAB / COTC
  • Fire Prevention and Risk Management Certificate
  • Environmental Compliance Management
  • General Management Qualification
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with an Engineering Background.
