Production Team Leader – St Davids 

Salary: £28,000 P/A

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Working hours: Mon – Fri – Rotational Shifts

We are seeking an experienced production team leader to join a manufacturing company based in Pembrokeshire.

The Role:

To assist the Departmental Manager to ensure that production schedules are met by delivering defect free products to all our customers on time and at the lowest possible cost.

Main Duties:

  • Perform activities within key operating targets (as detailed in the Business Plan and Appraisal Form).
  • Work in accordance with the production schedule/CLIP report and ensure that all ‘Production Records’ e.g. Scrap Records, Waiting Time, Plant History, Time Sheets, data entry, etc. are completed accurately and subsequently contribute to the solving of production and quality problems within your department.
  • Identify and prepare goods for dispatch direct to Customer and generate associated paperwork.
  • Compile and control Work Instructions/Process Control Plans for all products within the cell and perform Product Endurance/Functional tests, Process Audits and partial SIR’s, Goods Inward inspection, etc.
  • Create, implement and maintain training plans. Ensure that all Cell Operatives are trained and assessed to the training plans.
  • Organise own time and other resources to achieve agreed tasks, monitor progress, follow-up and overcome obstacles. Meet targets of time, cost and specification; intervene to support the team when appropriate.
  • Generate challenging but realistic plans with clearly identified priorities aimed at achieving defined goals. Hold regular team meetings to help motivate the team toward shared goals, inspire, develop and support the team members in the achievement of those goals.
  • Ensure that all your staff are appraised at least once per year and are aware of the Business Plan objectives and their contribution.
  • Identify areas of training and development and ensure that return to work interviews are conducted as part of team development up to and including 4th instance and/or first stage written warning.
  • Provide assistance to the Production Manager and Departmental Manager in the resolution of quality and production problems i.e. internal and external complaints.
  • Ensure that the department is kept clean and tidy at all times and make sure that there is no danger of cross contamination of materials or products (including scrap materials).

About You:

  • 3 years minimum experience in a production team leader role
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Consciencious and a keen eye for detail
