Solution 47 Recruitment are supporting a client who requires a Skilled Design Technician.
Due to ongoing high demand, we are seeking a skilled Design Technician with experience in the Structural Steel sector to join our clientsdynamic team. You will have the opportunity to work in a business with on-site manufacturing facilities, allowing you to engage with projects from initial client meetings through site surveys, design, and Quality Assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mezzanine floors, staircases, and balustrade systems.
- Create preliminary concept designs and develop them into final manufacturing detail and construction drawings using Autodesk Advance Steel.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Sales Team to ensure timely and accurate project designs.
- Conduct material take-offs and prepare material lists for pricing.
- Develop and maintain BIM models.
- Generate workshop manufacturing drawings and DXF files for laser cutting.
- Work with workshop supervisors to identify and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to program and prioritize the manufacturing schedule.
- Liaise with clients to address and resolve queries.
- Maintain control of manufacturing documents and records in accordance with ISO Quality Management Systems.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the Structural Steel sector is essential.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel.
- Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems is highly beneficial; training can be provided.
- Experience with site surveys is advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
