Solution 47 Recruitment are supporting a client who requires a Skilled Design Technician.

Due to ongoing high demand, we are seeking a skilled Design Technician with experience in the Structural Steel sector to join our clientsdynamic team. You will have the opportunity to work in a business with on-site manufacturing facilities, allowing you to engage with projects from initial client meetings through site surveys, design, and Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mezzanine floors, staircases, and balustrade systems.
  • Create preliminary concept designs and develop them into final manufacturing detail and construction drawings using Autodesk Advance Steel.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Sales Team to ensure timely and accurate project designs.
  • Conduct material take-offs and prepare material lists for pricing.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models.
  • Generate workshop manufacturing drawings and DXF files for laser cutting.
  • Work with workshop supervisors to identify and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to program and prioritize the manufacturing schedule.
  • Liaise with clients to address and resolve queries.
  • Maintain control of manufacturing documents and records in accordance with ISO Quality Management Systems.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the Structural Steel sector is essential.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel.
  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems is highly beneficial; training can be provided.
  • Experience with site surveys is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
