Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care

Access Team

Full time locum contract

30.34p/h

Located across Havering Borough / Hybrid working - minimum 2 days per week in the office

Our Local Authority Client are recruiting an Occupational Therapist to support their Access Team for a locum contract initially, based in Havering.

The team manages urgent or immediate, as well as short-term referrals, urgent manual handling and scheduled or unscheduled reviews of all equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct holistic, strengths-based, and person-centred assessments to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and carers.
  • Deliver asset-based interventions to help individuals maximise their abilities and independence.
  • Manage caseloads, applying specialist knowledge for assessments, care planning, and safeguarding.
  • Fulfill statutory duties under relevant legislation (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Knowledge of various legislations (e.g. Care Act 2014, Equality legislations, Mental health Act, safeguarding and making safeguarding personal, and clinical reasoning for equipment etc.
  • Experience working in Adult social services and working with large and small equipment.
