Head of RE (Religious Education)

Are you an inspiring and knowledgeable Head of RE eager to lead a vital subject that shapes students' understanding of cultures, ethics, and beliefs? We are looking for an exceptional Head of RE to join our secondary schools in Havering from January 2025. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our RE department and inspire students through a dynamic, inclusive, and thought-provoking curriculum.

As Head of RE, you will guide the development and delivery of the Religious Education program, creating a supportive environment where students can explore diverse worldviews and philosophical questions. Your role will involve mentoring and supporting RE teachers, setting high standards, and fostering a culture of respect, critical thinking, and curiosity within the department. The Head of RE will also collaborate with other faculty members to integrate cross-curricular learning experiences, helping students gain a well-rounded understanding of religious and ethical studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Religious Education department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop an engaging and inclusive RE curriculum that meets national standards and inspires students.

We are seeking a Head of RE with extensive experience in Religious Education, a strong background in leadership, and a passion for student development.
