Alternative provision school - Havering - Maths Teacher 

We are looking for a Maths Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and excited about the opportunity to provide essential education to their students with significant barriers to learning. This Alternative Provision school is based in East London. The school caters for students, 11-16, who find mainstream education challenging, due to their additional needs. Understanding their needs must be met before any academic development can happen.

What we are looking for

• Therapeutic teaching approach

• Maths with QTS/QTLS, Able to teach KS3, and KS4 GCSE Maths

• Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies

• Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach

• Experience with SEN, MLD, Behaviour difficulties, SEMH, Trauma, social communication teaching background

• Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students

• Experience of working with disengaged teenagers is essential.

• The passion to teach and inspire young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.

• Easily commutable on various lines with a 5 minute walk from the nearest station
