About the Role

We’re collaborating with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream school in Havering, looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join their team. This role is within their dedicated Additional Resource Provision (ARP), a specialized area of the school that provides tailored support for students with ASC. With purpose-built classrooms and sensory-friendly spaces, the ARP offers a calm, structured environment to help children succeed outside the larger mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced SEN teachers and support staff to deliver individualized learning plans that promote both academic growth and social-emotional development.
  • Lead and support children in activities designed to build communication, language, and social interaction skills.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists, to optimize each child’s learning experience.
  • Assist pupils with transitions between the ARP and mainstream classes, encouraging positive interactions and inclusion within the school community.
Do You Have:
  • Experience in an SEN or ASC-support role, or a strong personal background supporting children with ASC?
  • A commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment tailored to each child’s needs?
  • A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to adjust your methods to meet the individual needs of each pupil?
