Our client, a tier 2 contractor in the construction sector, is currently seeking an experienced Slinger/Banksman for a long-term contract in Hawick, starting on 22/07/2024. This role is essential for the effective handling and directing of lifting operations on a busy construction site dedicated to water projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely sling and direct loads being lifted by cranes or other lifting equipment
- Communicate effectively with crane operators and other on-site personnel
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
- Inspect and maintain lifting equipment
- Assist in various other tasks as directed by the site manager
- Provide clear and precise hand signals to crane operators
- Work collaboratively with other team members
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
Job Requirements:
- CPCS Blue-Slinger ticket
- Experience in construction, particularly in water-related projects
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging conditions
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
