We are urgently seeking a Professional Chef Lecturer to cover in our client's FE college training kitchen for the next 5 weeks. This role involves working Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, totalling 10 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for kitchen setup, operation, and closing, particularly during the busy Christmas season.
Day-to-day of the role:- Oversee the setup of the kitchen early in the morning and manage the closing procedures.
- Run the kitchen efficiently, ensuring all culinary standards and hygiene practices are met.
- Work closely with students, guiding them through the preparation and execution of the Christmas-themed menu.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly during service, handling any issues that arise promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a high-quality dining experience for all guests.
- Professional chef with substantial experience in kitchen management.
- Capable of instructing and supervising culinary students.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Knowledge of and experience with festive menus, particularly Christmas-themed dishes.
- Competitive hourly rate of £30-£40.
