Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Machine Grinder within the Machine Shop department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This Machine Grinder position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for grinding aircraft components to precision limits in accordance with company procedures.


Role Responsibilities will include:

  • To operate all types of grinding machines to fine limits.
  • To be able to work unsupervised/ minimal supervision.
  • To be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • To be able to work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
  • An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental procedures.
  • You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
  • You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.


Skills and Experience required:

  • Extensive experience working internal and external grinding machines. Knowledge of both essential.
  • Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred.
  • Experience of working with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
  • Knowledge of CNC grinding preferable.
  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.

Double day shift Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday (dependant on business needs).

One week of early shifts (6am to 2pm) and one week of late shifts (2pm to 10pm) alternating.

From 32,170 (+shift pay).
