We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our diverse and high-performing team. This role is integral to driving financial stability and customer satisfaction by managing overdue accounts and optimising cash collection. You will be adaptable, collaborative, and focused on providing excellent customer service while achieving KPIs and annual goals.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Chase all overdue accounts and monitor payment patterns to minimise potential bad debt and maximise cash collection. 
  • Manager a ledger of 500 accounts and approx. debt of 1.5 million per month 
  • Respond promptly to customer email and telephone enquiries/queries.
  • Collaborate with sales/customer services and purchase ledger to resolve stock and pricing issues.
  • Manage customer credit ratings and apply credit terms to accounts.
  • Update customer invoice portal platforms and upload invoices.
  • Assist the Manager with various tasks depending on workflow.
  • Negotiate payment plans and restrict supply of goods if necessary.
  • Contribute to the company’s Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Socio-Environmental values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Direct experience as a Credit Controller is essential.
  • Solid finance background with a minimum of GCSE in Maths and English.
  • AAT or equivalent work experience in Credit Control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in using EDI (portals) for invoice processing is advantageous.
  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to work well in time-sensitive settings.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional standards and attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, confident self-starter, and proactive problem solver.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
