SEMH Teaching Assistant - SEN School - Merton

A SEN school in the Borough of Merton are looking to recruit SEMH Teaching Assistants.

The school provides good quality teaching and therapy spaces for students in KS2, KS3 and KS4 who have Autism. This includes acoustic treatment to provide a calm, therapeutic environment. The school offers a pathway for GCSEs and provides for children with ASD with higher functioning and speech and language difficulties.

Onsite speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, CAMHS, music therapy, Lego therapy, art therapy and counselling are an integral part of the provision.

Students in KS2 and KS3 have access to a broad curriculum on offer, including the core subjects of English, Maths and Science as well as a wide range of specialist subject areas delivered in purpose-built classrooms.

As students enter Key Stage 4 they have the opportunity to take GCSEs and / or Entry Level courses, and a range of other qualifications according to their needs and abilities. Programmes are devised to work on building the skills students need to go on to further study or employment.
