Your new companyI am working with a long standing client to recruit an interim Employee Relations Specialist for a 6 month contract. My client is an international organisation with a large HR team, this role sits within the ER centre of excellence. You will support with the delivery of Employee Relations matters across a global remit, mainly focusing on the EMEA region. This role will give you a chance to make a great impact within a meaningful international organisation!

Your new role

  • Act as the subject matter expert on a broad range of ER issues, including: performance management, investigations, grievances, disciplinary and terminations, reorganisations, complex long term of absence and sickness issues
  • Understand International ER frameworks, including works councils
  • Provides guidance to HR Business Partners and Business Managers on complex ER matters
  • Respond to and investigate complaints involving employee conduct that may violate company policies, values, and/or legal obligations. Partners with Legal and conducts investigations under their guidance when potentially unlawful conduct is involved.
  • Prepare investigation summaries which includes factual findings and conclusions.
  • Contribute towards and takes an active part in business change projects including acquisitions/people integration, restructurings and reorganisations.
  • Provide ER support autonomously and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to individual situations and projects.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Navigate ambiguity and develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity
  • Develop ER processes, knowledge, trainings, and metrics
  • Manage ER initiatives, such as training on key ER policies, policy maintenance and development
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • Proactively assist HRBPs and Managers in reviewing, revising, recommending, and/or implementing sound ER solutions
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of ER data to identify trends and develop insights to be shared with HR and business leaders, leveraging data to inform targeted, proactive efforts to reduce the number of ER issues in the first place
  • Acts as an integral team member of the global ER team on employment matters
  • Able to manage a high volume of work
  • Proficient with ER case management systems and comfortable exporting, interpreting, and summarising data for relevant audiences
  • Experience using ServiceNow or equivalent case management system

The ideal candidate for this role will have global ER exposure from a large matrixed organisation.
