Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Trainee Electroplater within the Plating department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This Trainee Electroplater position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role you will assist the department to load or unload electroplating equipment and assist the Electroplaters directly with day-to-day tasks. The successful candidate will handle all of the various aspects of the plating process including cleaning, plating and rinsing tanks.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Proven ability to understand and interpret process standard practices, drawings and overhaul manuals.
  • Ability to undertake Material Handling to include Slings and Jigs.
  • Ability to undertake surface preparation by Grit Blasting techniques.
  • Ability to undertake component stripping, surface preparation, masking and electro plating of components requiring Cadmium plating.
  • Responsible for actions related to the COMAH emergency plan and any other requirements necessary to comply with the successful implementation of the COMAH plan
  • You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Illustrate previous knowledge and experience working within an engineering facility.
  • Good knowledge, awareness and understanding of PPE.
  • Previous use of overhead cranes and forklifts would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Desirable for the applicant to have worked within the aviation environment (not essential).
  • Able to use own initiative.
  • Great at verbal and written communication.
  • PC literate.

4 on 4 off shift pattern - must be available to work weekends as shift pattern will fall on weekends occasionally.
