Veritas education are working with a lovely secondary school located in West London who are seeking to appoint a School Librarian who will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the Library. The position is a full-time role on a long term basis, and would transform into a permanent role for the right candidate.

The school provides a highly academic and dynamic environment in which students are valued as individuals and thrive to their full potential. The School caters for around 1000 pupils aged 11 - 18 and was judged to be "Good" in all categories by OFSTED in a recent inspection. The school provide a friendly and supportive working environment as a team to assist students to a high standard.

School Librarian role:

Developing the school library and learning resources across the curriculum
Support students with locating books, resources, and specific material.
Support teachers with resources and the use of the library.
Manage behaviour of students accordingly within the library
Maintain and update library records accordingly via the library software
Create library displays and promote reading and study within the library.
Lead introductory sessions for students visiting the library so they understand library procedures.
Have high levels of organisation and attention to detail.

School Librarian Requirements:

Experience of working in a school or public library as a librarian or similar.
A real passion for working within an education environment.
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Check) registered with the DBS Update Service / 2 satisfactory references.
