History Teacher - Hayes, London
A secondary school based in Hayes is looking for a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join their team. This role offers a long-term contract through to at least July 2025. While the position is full time, the school is open to part-time applicants. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Salary will match the Outer London MPS/UPS.
History Teacher - Hayes, London
* Deliver engaging and comprehensive history lessons, guiding students through key historical periods, events, and themes to develop their understanding and critical thinking skills.
* Foster students' appreciation for history, encouraging them to draw connections between past events and contemporary issues, and inspiring a lifelong interest in learning.
* Create a dynamic classroom environment that promotes inquiry-based learning and allows students to explore history through discussions, debates, and independent research.
* Provide students with the tools to analyse historical sources critically and communicate their findings effectively.
* Contribute to the school's ethos by ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students feel valued and are motivated to reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Person Specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent* A relevant degree in History or a related field* Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students to love history* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Approachable, supportive, and enthusiastic
