Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH TA to join an exceptional SEMH school in Hillingdon. This role is available on a temporary basis for the full academic year, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.

As an SEMH TA, you will play a key role in supporting students who face challenges with their social, emotional, and mental health. You will work closely with both students and staff to ensure each child has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities of an SEMH TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Help students develop coping strategies and promote positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support students' learning and emotional well-being
  • Assist in creating and implementing personalised learning plans for SEMH students
  • Support students during lessons and in social settings to help them manage their emotions and behaviour

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working as an SEMH TA or in a similar role supporting young people with SEMH needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students who may display challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of young people
