We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a lovely primary school in Hayes. The successful candidate (SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant) will play a key role in providing high-quality support for students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring that they can engage fully in the curriculum and achieve their personal and academic goals

As a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be required to:

  • Support students with various special educational needs, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
  • Lead small group interventions and 1:1 sessions to support academic progress and emotional development.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of tailored lesson plans.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as necessary.
  • Provide support for students' social, emotional, and behavioural needs, promoting inclusion and positive behaviour.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support with personal care where required, ensuring the dignity and safety of students.

The ideal candidate for a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Proven experience working with children with a range of special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
  • Experience covering classes and doing interventions in Phonics, Reading and Writing.
  • Excellent understanding of SEN frameworks and strategies to support students with various learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students.
  • A positive, resilient attitude and a passion for education.
