HGV Sales Advisor

Heathrow
42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with 1 in 3 Saturdays, 7.00am to 12 Noon)

Shift Rotations:

  • Early: 5.50am - 2.50pm
  • Middle: 8.00am - 5.00pm
  • Late: 10.00am - 7.00pm

About the Role:
We are looking for a professional and experienced HGV Service Advisor to join our clients' Commercial Service Team at Heathrow. If you have experience working with HGVs and in customer service within a commercial vehicle environment, or if you're a Service Advisor from another automotive sector eager to learn about HGVs, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Professionally handle customer interactions, both in person and over the phone.
  • Manage Work in Progress (WIP) for the workshop, including MOT and service scheduling.
  • Keep customers updated on vehicle progress, flagging any potential delays.
  • Clarify the nature of repairs with both customers and the workshop (Retail/Warranty/Contract).
  • Promote additional services or repairs where applicable.
  • Add parts to WIPs and ensure parts are ordered upon relevant authorization.
  • Ensure customer reception area maintains high standards of professionalism.
  • Assist in parts sales to meet targets.
  • Process invoices and manage payment collections.
  • Maintain vehicle history and service records accurately, in line with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Support sub-contract work arrangements as needed.
  • Build rapport with staff and customers, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Stay up to date with franchise requirements and training.
  • Promote the company's image and maintain high health and safety standards.

Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
  • A proactive and problem-solving approach, with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Knowledge of technical and analytical skills, especially in working with statistical and costing data.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
