We are delighted to be partnered with our established and well known local members / social club as they seek to recruit a Bar Manager to join their experienced and friendly team within this excellent and popular club based close to Haywards Heath. This is a full time, permanent, 'live out' position, working around 52 hours per week.

52 hours per week. Shift pattern and hours can be discussed but normal days off are currently Mondays and Wednesdays

There is plenty of free parking on site for all staff. Workplace is based around 20-25 minutes walk from Haywards Heath station and local bus routes.

Salary £34000-£36000 per annum, depending on experience plus very good company benefits

The role - Bar Manager

My client is seeking an enthusiastic Bar Manager to lead their team and cultivate a thriving atmosphere for their members. Collaborating with the Club Officers, you'll ensure exceptional service and foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for Members and guests alike, providing a friendly and efficient service

Duties will include:

Daily Bar Management: Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organised bar environment, including restocking supplies, ensuring proper sanitation of glassware and equipment, overseeing safe waste disposal, and adhering to all health and safety regulations

Staff Management: Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of bar staff, including performance management and conflict resolution, and ensure a positive work environment. Recruitment of qualified staff, including recruitment performance management.

Rota Management: You'll be responsible for crafting cost-effective staff schedules that guarantee proper bar coverage during peak periods. This includes considering employee availability and preferences, complying with employment laws, and communicating the finalised rotas effectively.

Budget and Costs Management: Help define and manage the bar's budget effectively. This includes tracking expenses, such as inventory and staff costs, controlling costs, setting sales goals, and ensuring profitability.

Inventory Management: Track and monitor all bar supplies to ensure enough stock to meet demand without overspending or running out. This includes ordering new supplies, monitoring stock levels, and conducting regular inventory checks.

Vendor Management and Supply Purchasing: You'll be key in managing the bar's supply chain by negotiating favourable deals with vendors, selecting top-quality products within budget, and ensuring on-time deliveries. This involves building strong vendor relationships that prioritise reliable product availability, fair pricing, and clear communication channels through contract negotiation and ongoing collaboration.

Sales Tracking: Monitoring sales trends and Member preferences, e.g., popular drinks, time of day for peak traffic, etc., and identifying potential areas for improvement in service or product offerings.

Co-ordinating Drink and Food Offerings: Work with the catering franchisee and Club Officers to help develop a consolidated drink and food offering that aligns with Member preferences and budget.

Event Night Coordination: Help coordinate themed nights, live music events, or external events, ensuring staff availability and work with the Social Secretary to promote events appropriately.

EPOS Utilisation: EPOS is used for efficient inventory management, sales analysis, staff schedule creation, and report generation to identify trends and help with making informed decisions.

Experience, competencies and knowledge required:

Personal Licence Holder: Must be a personal licence holder.

Prior Experience: Strong experience working in bars, restaurants or, ideally, hospitality and Private Member's Clubs

Management Experience: Strong management experience

EPOS Experience: Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and ability to provide inventory management, sales analysis, staff rotas, and generating reports to identify trends
