Reed Accountancy are currently partnered with a client in Haywards Heath in the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant to join their team to cover a six month maternity. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of a team. As Accounts Assistant you will be involved in a range of accounting tasks and will contribute to the smooth running of our financial processes.

Day to day duties of Accounts Assistant:
  • Handling purchase ledger transactions, including posting purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Responding to day-to-day accounting enquiries via phone and email.
  • Managing credit control to ensure customers adhere to their agreed payment terms.
  • Processing employee monthly expenses and reconciling credit card statements.
  • Assisting with ad hoc duties and projects as requested by the Accounts team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Current AAT student (level 2 or level 3) or possessing a basic understanding of financial processes.
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organised with the ability to balance a busy and variable workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A team player with a high level of dedication.
  • Competent in the use of Excel and general IT software.
