Reed Accountancy and Finance are currently assisting an established client in the Haywards Heath area in the recruitment of a Senior Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team on temp to perm basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to month-end reporting processes and compliance activities, ensuring the smooth operation of their UK finance functions.

Day-to-day duties as Senior Assistant Accountant:

  • Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of month-end reporting, including posting month-end journals, preparing prepayments, and managing fixed assets postings.
  • Take ownership of the full month-end reporting process including preparing HFM load files, analysing results, and responding to divisional queries.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review intercompany postings.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and maintain the capital allowances ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and statutory accounts.
  • Address and support queries raised operational teams.
  • Respond to internal and external audit queries effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA part qualified/qualified or QBE.
  • A minimum of 3 years accounts experience.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and HFM reporting.
  • A problem solver with a strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
  • An effective and positive team player with excellent communication skills, possessing an agile, collaborative, and inclusive approach.
