Legal Cashier

Full time permanent role - Very well appointed offices in central location. Part time would be considered but would have to be Mon-Fri hours.

Mon-Fri 0900-1730.

Office based close to station area with free residential street parking also available nearby.

Salary - £40000 plus very good company benefits

Legal Cashier

The role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for maintaining financial records, handling transactions and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience within online banking, credit control and using financial management systems.

Previous experience within a law / legal firm is highly desirable

Duties will include:

Maintain office and client cashbooks

Handle online banking tasks

Manage banking activities

Entering all financial transactions onto the system

Advising staff of incoming funds

Assist fee earners and other staff with finance related questions

Take and process debit / credit card payments

Oversee invoicing and the issuance of credit notes

Inputting land registry fees

Maintain correct VAT status

Managing petty cash and performing reconciliations

Ensure compliance with anti money laundering regulations

Liaise with accountants regarding nominal / purchase ledger issues

Provide weekly and bi-weekly reports to fee earners

Experience, competencies and knowledge required:

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a legal or professional services firm.

Strong understanding of credit control processes

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Knowledge of anti money laundering policies and solicitors accounts rules
