Key Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping & Record-Keeping: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance.
  • Accounts Preparation: Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for review by senior accountants.
  • VAT Returns: Accurately prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Client Management: Communicate effectively with clients to gather financial information, resolve queries, and provide updates on their accounts.
  • Payroll Support: Process payroll and ensure compliance with PAYE regulations, as required.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closures: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' bookkeeping experience in an accountancy practice environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in using bookkeeping software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Qualifications: AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping certification preferred, but not essential.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling financial information.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective client interaction.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
