Bee Happy Recruitment are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join a wonderful Hotel near Haywards Heath, The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of food production and preparation, ensuring that our culinary standards are consistently met. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a vibrant hospitality atmosphere. Previous Fine dining experience is necessary for this role as the food standards are of the highest level, working with all fresh, local, seasonal, produce.

There are GP bonuses where you can expect an extra £700-£1000 per month on top of your salary as well as tips between 400-450 per month. live in may be a possibility for this role.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked and organised.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
  • Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff rotations to ensure efficient operation.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in food preparation methods and kitchen equipment operation.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
