ROLE- Engineering Sales Manager LOCATION- West SussexTERM- PermanentSALARY- Competitive dependent on experience My client works within the engineering sector and they are looking to take on a Sales Manager with an engineering background to work with their products, on a permanent basis, in the West Sussex area.The Engineering Sales Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Previous experience working in a similar technical engineering Sales Manager / Sales Director role with hands on technical / proposals experience
  • Sound technical knowledge, commercial skills and experience with relationship management
  • Experience working in a similar technical engineering company
  • Confident closing deals
  • Flexible to travel overseas at short notice when required
  • Someone who can work well with internal departments that are involved in the proposals process
  • Enthusiasm and drive to do well
  • Excellent administrative skills working with paperwork
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Be self-motivated and driven
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Engineering Sales Manager role will involve:
  • Being a key member of the UK Sales team
  • Focussing on securing sales with profit
  • Improving overall market share
  • Taking control of the sales process from start to finish
  • Developing in this role as part of a company long term
  • Travelling as and when needed to customer sites internationally
  • Developing core business relationships
  • Representing the company at exhibitions
  • Being confident working with long tender processes – each is bespoke
  • Project management and giving input to bid preparation
  • Working with the Estimating team to ensure pricing is correct
  • Negotiating commercial terms
  • Reporting on the sales pipeline using the company CRM system
