Join our dedicated team as a Learning Support Assistant at an independent special day school in Ardingly, focused on supporting pupils with social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with children who have complex emotional needs.
  • Recognise situations promptly and ensure de-escalation before disruption occurs.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how pupils learn and how to meet their individual requirements.
  • Foster a culture of kindness and respect, aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children and young people.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
