Reed HR are thrilled to partner with a reputable client in Horsham who is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team. This position starts as an 8-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension.In this role, you will collaborate closely with the HR Manager to deliver a results-driven HR service. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance and advice on HR policies, procedures, employee relations, and legislation. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring an efficient and effective recruitment process across various departments.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Respond professionally and effectively to employee and manager enquiries regarding HR policies, practices, and procedures to ensure the delivery of an effective HR service.
  • Under the direction of the HR Manager provide advice and support to managers on disciplinary, capability and grievance matters and assist them with hearings and related administration as required to ensure that employee relations issues are managed positively and within policies and legislation.
  • Assist the HR Manager with managing absence by analysing data and proactively supporting managers with absence management matters and return to work programmes, including liaison with Occupational Health, external GPs and any associated insurers/Pension Schemes, to ensure the effective management of casework.
  • Assist the HR Manager in providing advice and support to managers with recruitment, including screening, interviewing and selection, ensuring effective recruitment and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist the HR Manager with HR related project work.
  • Assist the HR Director with HR related activities when required.
  • Support the HR team in its day-to-day activities and administration.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to improving and developing the organisation’s processes and facilities.
  • Carry out such duties that may be reasonably required by the HRD and HRM.

Person Specification:

  • Good understanding of HR policies and procedures (essential)
  • Sound knowledge of UK Employment Law (essential)
  • Experience of providing HR support to line managers and managing casework in a busy environment (essential)
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and confident user of Microsoft 365.
  • Proactive and ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Work on own initiative.
  • Be able to prioritise work and work under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Flexible approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
