Locum Property Solicitor (Planning)

Join the Legal Services team where we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the community by delivering high-quality services and fostering a vibrant, sustainable environment. We are looking for a fully qualified Property Solicitor to provide comprehensive legal advice and support a Local Government Department on a temporary basis.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice, representation, and assistance to Council Members, staff colleagues, and at public meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the Legal Services' role in achieving the goals set out in the Legal Team’s Service Plan and the Council’s Corporate Plan.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective legal services, with a focus on property-related legal matters.
  • Support various Council projects and initiatives by leveraging your expertise in property law.
  • The role will include both case and committee work support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with substantial experience in property law.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of providing clear and effective legal advice to diverse stakeholders.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality legal services and contributing to the wider objectives of the Council.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
