Role- Mechanical Project Engineer Salary- Competitive (Dependent on experience, please advise what you’re looking for)Type- PermanentLocation- West SussexMy client design and manufacture a range of products for the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors and they are looking to take on a Project Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the West Sussex area.The Project Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Be Degree/ HND/ HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Or QBE with strong Project Engineering skills having worked in a technical environment)
  • 2 years or more of industry experience working in a similar project role
  • Have the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Be able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent planning skills 
  • Confident in your own Engineering knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of CAD software and also Microsoft Office programmes (MS Excel/ MS Project) would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility to travel as required as a large part of the role to customer sites, both in the UK and abroad
The Project Engineer role will involve:
  • Working within the companies Projects Department under a Project Manager
  • Supporting important company contracts (engineering, material supply and quality control)
  • Working on the co-ordination and execution of projects
  • Working closely with site management teams
  • Reviewing sub-contractor bids including the technical aspects
  • Reviewing drawings
  • Drafting purchase order specifications for equipment and material purchase
  • Travel in both the UK and Worldwide as the job requires to meet clients
