Our client, a leading manufacturer based near Haywards Heath are looking to recruit a Buyer to join the business on a 12 Month Fixed Term basis for Maternity Cover.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Purchasing role within a manufacturing engineering environment. You will need to ensure that all purchase orders are placed to ensure materials arrive in a timely manner to meet demand.
This role is available for a start in the new year based on site in Haywards Heath 5 days per week.
Hours - Monday - Friday 8AM – 4.30PM
Role Description
- Prepare daily analysation report to rationalise daily prioritisation.
- Convert requisitions to purchase orders and issue to the supply base in a timely manner.
- Manage and highlight or escalate any issues of part delivery through the most appropriate channels (internal / external) whilst ensuring the purchase manager is kept updated.
- Create, develop and maintain excellent working relationships with supply base and internal stakeholders.
- Work with the supply base to better the current position through purchase general tactics.
- Understand the internal stakeholders / customers’ needs and wants to aim to meet and exceed their expectations
- Whilst undertaking duties, ensure that all Company policy and procedures are adhered to (including HSE and Quality).
Skills & Attributes
- Demonstrable experience within a Purchasing role within a engineering/ manufacturing environment.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure.
- Experience working with MRP systems.
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
- Excellent communication skills.
