Job Summary

  • As a Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals with speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties. The role involves working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions that enhance quality of life and promote functional communication and swallowing outcomes.

    At Band 6, the focus is on developing specialized skills and managing a moderate caseload, while Band 7 encompasses leadership, advanced clinical expertise, and supervision of junior staff.

    Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties:
    • Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication disorders (and/or dysphagia) in children or adults as per the service remit.
    • Deliver individualized and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
    • Plan and evaluate intervention goals in partnership with patients, families, and other professionals.
    • Provide specialist input in dysphagia management (Band 7 role typically requires high-level expertise).
    • Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely clinical records in line with professional standards and organizational policies.
