Senior Mechanical Design AnalystAnnual Salary: £55k - £60k plus bonus + Good benefitsDerbyshire

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Analyst to join our innovative engineering team. This role involves designing and analysing bespoke products to ensure compliance with client specifications, legislative requirements, and quality and HSE standards. The ideal candidate will be a professional mechanical engineer capable of working independently or collaboratively to develop products that meet technical requirements.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Prepare engineering calculations across various disciplines to support detailed design schemes.
  • Conduct concept and detail design work, applying principles of acoustics, dynamics, mechanics, and thermo-fluids to create optimal solutions.
  • Engage in research and development activities.
  • Take responsibility for site survey activities.
  • Produce sketch drawings for design concepts to enable detailed design definition.
  • Utilize IT packages effectively for engineering activities, including CAD, PDM, PLM, etc.
  •  Interpret engineering drawings and generate reports for a range of customers.
  •  Use noise measurement equipment to assess product performance.
  •  Implement engineering specifications and standards.
  •  Manage project timescales to meet or improve deadlines.
  • Provide engineering resources for other departments and ensure adherence to company standard business processes.
  • Identify hazards and work towards risk reduction.
  • Present technical information internally and to customers.
  • Act as a lead Engineer on larger contracts, overseeing a team of Design Engineers.
  • Liaise with external design resources and provide technical support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or HND with significant experience
  • Proficient in engineering analysis tools including FEA and CFD.
  • Experience in a responsible mechanical engineering position.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and fabrication design details.
  • Desirable qualifications include a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, Advanced level mathematics and physics, IMechE corporate membership, and IOA membership.
  • Desirable experience includes familiarity with structural design codes, acoustic and noise control principles, and European directives such as the Machinery directive and ATEX.

Rewards:

  • Base salary of £50k - £60k
