LHH Recruitment Solutions are currently working with a leading East Sussex based organisation with the recruitment of a Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. This fast paced and highly successful business place a huge emphasis on culture, sustainability and investing in the communities they serve.
The Senior Financial Accountant position plays a critical part within the finance team and leads on external reporting and year end processes along with providing technical accounting solutions to the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements for the Group's UK subsidiaries.
- Assist the Group's auditors to ensure that the year-end audit process runs smoothly
- Provide IFRS technical accounting advice.
- Consider the accounting implications of transactions or changes to the operations of the Group and the retail lending company in light of these standards
- Supporting technical accounting projects including consultation with other teams throughout the Group and preparation of technical accounting memos and discussion paper
- Supporting the maintenance of Group accounting policies to ensure it follows best practice and remain relevant
- Respond to ad hoc queries from, and provide support to, Business Partners, Group Tax and Audit Committees
- Ownership of weekly technical intelligence reporting, scanning the horizon for technical and reporting developments.
Key skills / experience:
- Qualified Accountant (Ideally ACA or ACCA trained from a Top 10 accounting firm)
- Knowledge of IFRS would be advantageous.
- Solid experience within technical accounting/accounting policy development team/financial reporting team of a UK publicly listed company or Big Four newly qualified accountant
- Background in Financial Statements production or audit & banking business and accounting
- Demonstratable experience of producing technical accounting memos and acting as a technical accounting adviser to management and the business at large

The role is permanent and is paying 60-75k depending on experience.
