Accounts Assistant

Do you have accounts experience?We are looking for a dedicated and versatile Accounts Assistant to support our client’s friendly and dynamic accounting team in their beautiful Heathfield office. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a crucial role, acting as the number two to the Accountant, and gaining exposure to all aspects of accounting and finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Credit Control: Monitor and manage overdue accounts, ensuring timely collection of payments.
• Reconciliations: Assist in bank, supplier, and client reconciliations to ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date.
• Ledger Management: Support the management of purchase and sales ledgers, processing invoices, and maintaining financial records.
• Ad-Hoc Finance Duties: Handle a variety of tasks, from expense management to supporting the preparation of financial reports.

Desirables (but not essentials):

• AAT Level 2 (or above) qualification.
• Prior experience in an accounting/finance role, ideally covering credit control, reconciliations, and ledger work.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
