A leading scientific instrumentation manufacturer is seeking an Instrument Assembler to join their production team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the assembly and testing of high-quality vacuum instruments used in electron microscopy and other scientific applications.

Role Overview:

As an Instrument Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling precision-engineered components, performing quality checks, and contributing to the production of advanced scientific equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test high-precision vacuum instruments from kits of parts.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on products as required.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Construct and install small-bore piping, wiring looms, and precision-engineered parts.
  • Use hand and power tools for mechanical assembly tasks.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong electro-mechanical assembly background in a relevant industry.
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and build wiring looms.
  • Familiarity with using test measurement instruments such as micrometers and Vernier gauges.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of vacuum-based scientific instrumentation.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., Kaizen, Kanban, 5S).
